American political divides mask deeper disagreements. Our project is not to bridge those political differences. Our aim is to promote conversations and programs that explore the unspoken moral commitments we all have, and surface our disagreements.
We’re explorers, not bridge builders.
Unthinking acceptance of economic consumption as a stand-in for “happiness” blocks critical examination of what human life and society are really for. Overemphasized economic measures of well-being tell us we’re in great shape, but we know we’re not.
We protest against these reductive ways of thinking about human social life, and offer a better way.
